A Stay at La Sultana Marrakech

Marrakech is a city full of mystery and colour — with its winding streets, vibrant souks, and golden light. But located in a secluded alley of the historic Kasbah quarter, we discovered a peaceful sanctuary: La Sultana Marrakech. Although it’s right in the centre of the city, the hotel feels calm and private — like a hidden palace where time moves slowly.

During our recent visit, we had the pleasure of staying at this unique property, and I’m delighted to share the highlights of our experience. As a luxury travel planner, I always look for places that combine authenticity with elegance — and La Sultana truly captures the soul of Morocco in the most refined way.

The hotel

La Sultana is more than just a hotel — it’s a collection of five traditional riads, joined together to create one magnificent retreat. Every corner tells a story. From carved cedar ceilings to zellige tilework and antique lanterns, you feel like you’re stepping into a different time — but with all the comfort of a modern five-star experience.

The property features 28 rooms & suites all of a different décor mainly with fine art objects. In the communal areas you can find luxurious gardens, a heated swimming-pool and a large rooftop terrace (with comfortable lounge areas, a small plunge pool, and panoramic views). Furthermore, there’s a spa and its treatment rooms, two restaurants and a cocktail and mezze bar, a gym and a terrace dedicated to cooking classes.

Room

We stayed in one of the suites, and from the moment we entered, we were impressed by the attention to detail. The room was decorated in warm tones with traditional Moroccan design — a mix of rich fabrics, hand-carved furniture, and beautiful local artwork.

The bed was large and incredibly comfortable, and small touches made a big difference — from fresh flowers and local pastries to a marble bathroom with luxury amenities.

Breakfast was served on the patio next to the pool. We enjoyed fresh juices, warm Moroccan breads, honey, dates, and eggs cooked to order.

Final thoughts

Our stay at La Sultana Marrakech was more than just a hotel experience — it was a journey through Moroccan art, tradition, and hospitality. Every moment felt special, from the warm welcome to the peaceful afternoon on the rooftop.

If you’re dreaming of Marrakesh and want to experience it in the most elegant and authentic way, I would be happy to help you plan a stay at La Sultana. It’s one of those rare places that stays in your memory long after you leave.

La Sultana Oualidia

La Sultana also has a breathtaking sister property in Oualidia, a peaceful seaside village on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Surrounded by a calm lagoon and nature reserve, La Sultana Oualidia is the perfect escape if you’re seeking privacy, wellness, and connection to nature — with the same attention to detail and refined service.

This little gem features 12 rooms & suites, all carefully decorated with private terraces & jacuzzi. Furthermore, there’s also a tree house, an infinity outdoor pool (and a heated indoor pool), a paddel court, a spa with its treatment rooms, a gym, three restaurants and an oyster bar, an organic vegetable garden and a fishpond.

Both properties are a great combo for a perfectly blended one-week itinerary in Morocco.
